Abi Elphinstone - Author Visit
We were very lucky to have Abi Elphinstone visit us this week to launch her new book 'Sky Song'. Her energy and enthusiasm inspired both pupils and teachers. Abi spoke about her experience as a writer and offered children these essential tips: Carry a notepad with you everywhere, never be afraid of failure and live life filled with adventure. We hope to see Abi again soon at Essendine! #EVENT

World War One
This term's theme, World War One, has produced some wonderful learning across the whole school. Children have been engaged in the topic and have learnt a lot about the events of the war and gained a great deal of empathy towards the soldiers. As you may have seen, our displays have mirrored our learning and below are some examples. #EVENT

Waterstone’s visit for World Book Day Winnrers
Last Friday, the lucky World Book Day winners went to Waterstone’s to select a free book of their choice. Some children, also got another book with their £1 token! While there, a member of the waterstone staff read a book to the group and helped them with book suggestions. The children behaved excellently and impressed the staff with their book knowledge. We hope they are enjoying their new book.
Don’t forget, all children have until 31st March to use their World Book Day £1
